It gives immediate volume from the gel and stimulates collagen as the particles remain, which puts it between a filler and a biostimulator. Two things worth knowing that rarely come up in a consultation: it is FDA-approved for the back of the hands as well as the face, and the FDA notes that calcium hydroxylapatite shows up on x-rays and can obscure underlying features, so tell your dentist and your radiologist.

The Radiesse question that matters most
This one cannot be dissolved. Hyaluronidase breaks down hyaluronic acid and has no effect on it, so if you are unhappy you wait it out, and if there is a complication the options are steroids, laser or surgery rather than a clean reversal. That is the trade you are making, and it is a reasonable trade for the right person. It is not a good trade for a first-time filler patient who has not tried the reversible option.
